Gray and White Bath Color Scheme

It’s Week 2 of my guest participation in the One Room Challenge hosted by Calling It Home and I’m back with another update on our Spa-Inspired Bathroom Makeover. If you missed last week’s post (week 1), please catch up here.

I thought I’d start today’s post with a photo I took of the bathroom of the hotel in Boston we recently stayed at, while on Spring Break. I love how modern and streamlined this bathroom looks. Of course, that’s before bathroom products and toiletries ruin the look and take over the counters and shower! 🙂 Although I would inject more color into this bathroom, this type of sleek and simple aesthetics appeal to me. Makes me think — So fresh, so clean.

Here’s a reminder of the current state of our bathroom. Getting down to work this week with painting! I spent most of the past week sourcing for products. Oh yeah, softball season just started for our 10 year-old daughter. She does travel softball and her 10U team won 2 tournaments this weekend! The best part was she got to pitch and did extremely well! I didn’t get to work on the bathroom over the weekend but cheering my daughter and her teammates on was well worth it. 🙂

I received so many wonderful comments last week about our bathroom project. In particular, everyone loved the inspiration photo below (Image courtesy of designer: Tracy Lynn Studio via Houzz // photographer: Zack Benson).

Having a color scheme established (gray and white) really helps narrow down my choices for decor. I still have quite a number of items to purchase but today, I wanted to share what I do have in mind already.

1) Paint Color (Valspar’s Gravity)
Choosing the right gray paint is no easy feat with all the options available (too many to decide) so I’m glad I narrowed down to this gorgeous color. It’s apparently one of Valspar’s most popular grays.)

2) Bathroom Wall Cabinets

Option 1  – I love the way this cabinet looks but I’m afraid the glass doors wouldn’t work well in our bathroom. Ideally, I’d like a cabinet to store the “not so pretty things” out of sight. White Bathroom Wall Cabinet

Option 2 – I love that this cabinet has doors that conceal products but also has an open shelf area at the bottom. This is probably the more practical choice. Under $100, that’s a deal!

3) Bath Rugs
I love plush-feeling bath rugs so I’m leaning towards bath mats that are soft and fuzzy. How cute is this rug below? Gotta love the “You look great” statement!

You know I love myself some geometric patterns so this gray and white rug would also work wonderfully in our bathroom makeover.Grey and white bath rug

Before I close today’s post, I’d like to thank American Standard for being a sponsor of my spring 2018 guest participation in the One Room Challenge! I can’t wait to replace our old toilet with a new one from American Standard.
