Lauren, my youngest just turned 4 years old so you can imagine there will be an upcoming post about her birthday party (happening this weekend). In today’s post, I wanted to share a few photos from the past 3 birthday parties we’ve thrown to celebrate her birthday.

Birth…Day. That brings me back to the day she was born 4 years ago. Of course, it is an amazing, indescribable joy to welcome any child to the world. But there was something I always wondered even before Lauren was born. Like many parents moving from 1 child to 2 children, I wondered how I could possibly love another child as much as I already love my first.

Then, Lauren arrived. I loved her instantly but not being the first born, not being the first daughter even, I wondered how she would distinguish herself from her big sis, Ellie. Well, I was so foolish in being concerned. If photos can tell a thousand stories, you will know I have a thousand memories to share of how despite her petite frame, this girl has such a big personality. The diva will not be ignored. 🙂 Here are some photos:

Like her big sister, Lauren is always making us laugh with the words that come out of her mouth. The most recent will be remembered for quite some time:

After witnessing Lauren toss a stack of Monopoly money up in the air and making a mess in her playroom, our conversation went like this:

Me: “What do you think you’re doing? You’re making a mess.”

Her: “I was only trying to make it rain, mommy.”

It’s hard to get mad when you hear a comical response like that! The girl knows how to get herself out of trouble…always!

It’s safe to say, I’ve learned a thing or two since becoming a parent of two. Four years at that, in fact. Biggest takeaway is that when it comes to having kids, there is always enough room in your heart to love another. The truth is, you grow another heart. It is as simple as that.

Do you agree or have a comment about this post? As always, thanks following along! 🙂
