Hi guys! I’m back to report on the progress of my guest participation in the One Room Challenge hosted by Linda at Calling It Home. If you missed last week’s post (week 1), please catch up here.

Let’s take a quick look at the 3 Inspiration photos behind the “modern girl chic” room that I’m creating for my daughters, Ellie and Lauren. Although there are enough bedrooms in our house, they prefer to share the same bedroom. 🙂

One Room Challenge Inspiration Photos

In last week’s post, I showed you a very bare nursery room in transition. We’ve made some progress in this room but it’s still a pretty blank canvas. I’ve been busy sorting through the kids’ things and making decisions on what things to keep and toss. Speaking of decisions, I made a big one the other day regarding this project.

I…am…keeping…the…EXISTING…paint…color! 🙂

I hate to change things just for the sake of changing things if the change really isn’t necessary. I still love the 2-tone shades of green paint colors!

Now that we have the wall color decision out of the way, I’d like to show you Ellie and Lauren’s bed and trundle set. Similar to a bunk bed, Ellie (big sister) sleeps on the top while Lauren (little sister) sleeps on the bottom (trundle part). In a small room with not the highest of ceilings, this really works out perfectly!

P.S. I’m not keeping the bedding below. I hope to find something within the next week or two!

I have to say I really love their bed. I love the detailing all around.

Besides their bed and trundle, the other piece of big furniture in this room is their dresser. We purchased it from Ikea three years ago.

What bothers me about this cabinet are the boring, plain knobs. Luckily, I found new hardware from HomeGoods during a recent shopping trip. It was $30.00 for 3 packs.

I can’t wait to show you how the cabinet looks with these new knobs next week.

That’s it for my progress report for Week 2 of my One Room Challenge participation. Be sure to tune in next Thursday for my next update. In the meantime, please check out the progress of my friends who are also participating in this challenge:
