Today, I celebrate 9 years being married to an incredible guy. A guy I’ve been calling my best friend for the past 18 years. Yes, we’ve known each other for a very long time, considering I’m still youngΒ relatively young. πŸ™‚ I can go on about his amazing qualities, but I’m not going to do that in this post. Rather, I thought I’d share a quote I came across this week:

“Once in a lifetime, you meet someone who changes everything.”

He is that someone for me. Life wasn’t rough before we met but it sure has been an interesting and pleasant yellow brick road we’ve been traveling since meeting in college.

Since it’s our anniversary today, I thought I’d share some photos from our special day, 9 years ago. It was a warm, sunny, and beauteeful summer day.

1. My wedding dresses.

Left: I fell in love with this beaded lace gown the second I saw it. It was the 2nd dress I tried on.

Right: My “qipao” dress. Pronounced “chee-pow.” To celebrate my Chinese heritage, I wore this gown for a little while during wedding. So glad I didn’t skip this because I originally planned to only wear my ivory gown.

2. The back view of my lace gown. I loved my bouquet, which consisted of roses and calla lilies. I think my hairstylist sprayed “sparkles” to my hair.

4. Our Tablescape. Our centerpiece consisted of hydrangeas, orchids, and roses.

As I write this post, 9 years after our wedding vows, the only word that seems appropriate to end this post is “Un-con-di-tion-al.” Happy 9th Anniversary to my best buddy and husband, Chris. Thank you for exemplifying the true meaning of loving someone. No matter what flaws I have or how I may look as the calendar pages turn, I am comforted in knowing that your love is unconditional.
