The VorMax Toilet Difference

We’re now just 1 week away from the reveal of my Spa-Inspired Guest Bathroom Makeover for the One Room Challenge, hosted by Calling It Home! There’s still lots of details to be done but I’m so relieved with all the progress during Week 5, which I’m sharing today on the blog.

Today’s post is sponsored by American Standard, with all opinions being my own. Thank you for supporting brands that make Beauteeful Living possible. Affiliate links are also provided in post. The biggest reason why I decided to revamp our guest bathroom had to do with a 6 letter word. T.O.I.L.E.T. It’s the hardest working fixture in our home, given its frequency of use.

For what we put it through (oh, let the bathroom puns begin…), I regret the mistake of getting a toilet based on looks alone, when we first renovated our bathroom 7 years ago! The main gripes I had with our old toilet centered around its poor flushing system (i.e. required frequent cleaning) and how often the valve got stuck (i.e. water kept running). Fortunately, there are so many options for toilets these days that work well and look good. This time around, I decided to go with a different brand. With its reputation for quality, design, and continuous research efforts, I chose to go with American Standard.

After reading about it in ads and doing my own research, I became especially impressed with the VorMax technology offered by American Standard. With an array of options available, I ultimately selected the Ultima VorMax model. The tank and bowl come in separate pieces.

Highlights on how American Standards’ VorMax collection stands out from the competition:

VorMax Flushing Technology
Unlike traditional toilets, the VorMax flush uses 70% of the 1.28 gallons of water to rinse the bowl clean and 30% of the water to siphon and remove waste. This results in a much cleaner toilet bowl (water released to the rim offers greater scrubbing power). This feature alone is enough to sway me. I really dislike the way most toilets just have water seeping down versus having it swirl around the bowl to clean up residue.

Its clean curve rim design eliminates hidden, hard to reach areas where dirt and buildup often collects.

Superior Flush Performance
VorMax features dual-injection flush valves that are opened simultaneously, delivering water in 2 efficient ways. While the flush is strong, it is not loud. No need to worry about waking anyone up in the middle of the night! 🙂
EverClean System & EverClean Surface
The system incorporates a permanent glaze additive right into the circulation piping to protect the pipes from mold, mildew, algae and fungus that could cause deterioration or staining of the pipes. This is ingenious! Less room for germs and dirt to build up.

Let’s now look at our newly installed toilet!

We hired a professional to install our toilet (translation: my husband did not want to do it).
.
Isn’t the toilet so sleek and modern? It has a chrome handle which perfectly goes with all the chrome hardware in our bathroom.

You can probably tell that this toilet seat isn’t like most. It has BUTTONS! Why?

This is a bidet seat!

Now that bidet seats are available, I envision more households having the bidet feature. With this bidet seat, you no longer have to contend with space constraints! And if you don’t fancy a traditional bidet fixture in your bathroom (I’m not a fan), this seat is the perfect alternative without compromising its hygienic benefits! Here are some product highlights:

The cleaning valves are all tucked into this seat. Isn’t that incredible?! The heated seat feature will be a huge plus for us in winter months since our guest bath is much colder than our bathroom upstairs.

American Standard Bidet Seat - Lid Up

Simply flip the seat cover down and it slowly closes. My kids get a kick out of watching the cover close…”slow-mo” style! 🙂

In other One Room Challenge update news…

We got our wall cabinet installed the other day. I assembled this all by myself! See the gap between the cabinet and toilet? I’ll have a little shelf there installed for decorative items.

Our new mirror is also hung. Can’t wait to show you the entire thing next week!

We now have a handheld shower head in our guest bath! This is so much more versatile than a fixed shower head.

Here’s a peek at something I created as wall decor. Since he’s the only boy in our home, I’m totally calling my hubby out!
