Before this past weekend, I’ve never hosted a birthday sleepover party at our house. Our oldest has been asking for sleepovers with her friends since she was around 7 but I’ve wanted to put that off as long as I could. Last year, I promised her that I’d throw her a slumber party to celebrate her 10th birthday this year. Today’s post shares how I decorated for this “Silver and Gold” birthday theme!
When I saw this set of balloons, spelling “Best Day Ever,” I knew it’d go perfect with the color scheme for Ellie’s party. That statement is one of my favorite phrases…especially coming from kids!

Check out the main display below. Silver and gold decor items all over our sideboard table, of course!
What’s a party without balloons? I couldn’t resist getting ones with confetti in it. Love the balloons with phrases as well.
So festive!
So fun!
So youth-like! 🙂
How cute is this letter board? Both the letter board and the stick-on paper flower came from Target.
Besides the balloons, those white and gold favor bags (available at Michael’s) completed the full look of the theme. Love that touch of glam!
I had a few games planned for Ellie and her friends. Lip Sync Battle was the main game. Oh, I cannot tell you how hilarious and entertaining it was to watch a bunch of 9 and 10 year old girls dancing, lip-syncing, and having a blast! They knew all the songs on the radio, of course! Our Alexa was putting on lots of overtime that night!
This backdrop was purchased at Party City. I added the letters to spell “Lip Sync Battle.” Gotta add some cheesiness to the decor by adding letters that were cut by freehand. 😀
And what’s a competition without trophies? I personalized the trophies with labels. If you’re going to do something, do it right. 😉
Here’s the full display again! Years later, I can look back at this photo and know this party was for Ellie’s 10th birthday. What a fun and memorable night filled with dancing, lipsyncing, snacking, and giggles!
Here I am with the birthday girl. She is officially 10 today! We love her so much and are so lucky that she’s a part of our lives. She’s certainly one of the biggest inspirations behind Beauteeful Living.
Here’s Ellie giving her little sis, Lauren, a big bear hug … it was a “send off” hug since Lauren got the boot from Ellie’s slumber party. Ha! Lauren wasn’t too upset though since she got to have her 1st sleepover at her best buddy’s house that evening. 😉

We had a silver and white party for my mom’s 70th birthday, and I loved how it turned out. This gold & silver combo is so charming. It’s a theme, without being too overwhelming. It’ll be perfect for our next celebration.
Your party bag display is gorgeous! It’s my daughter’s party next weekend and I’m feeling inspired. We’re heading to the park but kids are always pumped about party bags and I think it’s sweet to display them nicely. I particularly like the mix of zig-zag and stripe, so cute. The trophies are loads of fun too!
I love this idea! Really classy for any adult or teen party. Think I just may use it for my bestie’s 50th coming up in May!
AWWWW Happy 10th! I love the silver and gold idea! I think this would be great for an adult party too! I can see my girlfriends and I having a great time! I wish I was this creative!
I have always loved silver but thought gold was ugly, until recently. My Happy Planner cover is what changed my mind. I would joyfully react to a surprise party in this theme.
What a great idea! I love both silver and gold so it woudl be perfect for me! ha! My mom is turning 70 this month. I might use some of your fun ideas for her party.
OMG I would have weirdly enough never thought to mix these two colors together but they look stunning and quite classy!
What a fun party and what a great decor theme! I love the framed “10” and the trophies are such a great touch!
Ellie I’m sure had a blast. I can’t believe she’s 10! So beautiful. Miss Jo Ann
Thanks so much, Miss Jo Ann! We all miss you. Haven’t forgotten about visiting you all! Hope all is well. Xoxo
This party theme is so beautiful, I am sure it was a hit. I think your creativity is so inspiring.
Thanks so much, Michelle! Hope you’re enjoying the snow day with the kids!
