Summer started several weeks ago and I’m already realizing that this summer will fly by even quicker than last year! Not much summer ambiance in your home yet? That’s okay because on the blog today, I’m sharing 5 Easiest Ways to Decorate for Summer. It’s never too late to decorate for summer, if you ask me. 🙂

In my recent Amara’s Home Inspiration feature, I incorporated many of the summer decor tips I’m sharing today.

Tip #1 – Add Sheer Curtains as Window Treatment

Sheer curtains are a wonderful way to let in sunlight into your home while still filtering the sun’s strong rays. Our living room’s bay window currently has 4 panels of white curtains hanging above. Two of these panels are sheer. In the evenings when the panels are drawn together, they provide just the level of privacy that we need. Summer is the perfect season to use lighter fabrics such as sheer curtains.

Tip #2 – Incorporate Pastel Colored Throw Pillows

Notice that I’ve kept my fuzzy pillows from the winter? Pairing these pastel toned pillows from Amara instantly transitions the sofa into a summer-like setting.

Our dog, Roxie, just loves to lounge around in our living room. I think she approves of the decor choices. 🙂

Tip #3 – Make Throw Blankets Your Bedside Friend

Along with throw pillows, throw blankets are one of my favorite ways to layer on color according to the seasons. This pastel blue throw adds a punch of color to an otherwise neutral bedspread.

Tip #4 – Make a Lighting Statement with Clusters of Lanterns

There’s no other lighting decor element that I love more than lanterns. These lanterns from Amara are my absolute favorites this summer. They work well both indoors and outdoors! By clustering them close together, they make an even greater design statement.

Tip # 5 – Place Flowers/Plants on Your Bathroom Vanities

If you’ve been following my Instagram Stories, you’ll notice that I love adding fresh flowers to our guest bath vanity. Besides peonies, I’ve had hydrangeas and roses from our garden brought inside our house. There’s nothing like FREE flowers from the yard! No free flowers to pick? Well, a store bought orchid plant is the next best thing. 😉
