Can’t believe we’re already midway until the reveal of my Craft Room Makeover as part of my guest participation in the One Room Challenge (ORC)! Yes, this is usually the week when most of the participants start to freak out panic about getting projects completed in time!
Resort Chic Craft Room Makeover – The Full Series
Week 1 (Before Photos) // Week 2 (Design Board & Inspiration) // Week 3 (New chairs ordered) // Week 4 (Items Arriving) // Week 5 (New armchair and decor peeks) // Week 6 (Reveal Post)
I’m definitely feeling the time crunch since there’s still plenty to do before the space starts taking shape into a craft room. Let’s see what I’ve done for Week 3’s progress report:
1. Repaired Walls
Removing the wall shelves left quite a number of deep holes to fill. I didn’t count but between this wall and the window area, I’m pretty sure I had at least 40 holes to spackle. Good thing I don’t mind spackling. The part I can’t stand is all the dust that settles everywhere after sanding down the spackle!
2. Primed and Painted Sideboard Table
Since the sideboard table I had in our family room was still in great condition, I decided it was worth keeping. Of course, it couldn’t stay as is … a new color was in order!
Ugh, I just wish there weren’t so many slats to paint!
Although the original color of the sideboard was light, I still gave the sideboard a coat of primer to ensure better color coverage when applying the chalk paint.
After 2 coats of chalk paint, our sideboard was starting to look pretty good! I’ll need 1 more coat of paint before applying 1 coat of sealant.
Paint Used for Sideboard Makeover:
Primer // Chalk Paint (Farmhouse White)
3. Ordered Craft Table Chair and Accent Chairs
I’m extremely excited to announce another brand sponsor for my Craft Room makeover — HOMEPOP!
If you’re a frequent online shopper like me, you’ve likely seen HOMEPOP‘s vast collection of furniture pieces through their retail partners (Amazon, Overstock, Wayfair, Target, Kohl’s, Pier 1 Imports, JC Penney, Walmart, Kirkland’s, Hayneedle, Home Depot, and Zulily). Their array of furniture pieces include accent tables, barstools, benches, chairs, headboards, ottomans, and even pet beds!
I’m extremely picky when it comes to choosing furniture. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for me to choose the chairs I needed for my Craft room thanks to the myriad options available through HOMEPOP. Their products cover a wide range of styles such as modern, mid-century, glam, industrial, farmhouse, traditional, and rustic.
I chose this Lexington chair in cream faux leather for its clean lines and neutral look. It’ll look great with a decorative throw pillow against it! Besides the aesthetics, I especially like how easy it’ll be to clean the “faux leather” covering!
This chair is available online here and here.
Besides the Lexington chair, I also ordered 2 of these Modern Accent Chairs with Swivel Base.
Look how great these swivel chairs look as a set! (Photo courtesy of HOMEPOP’s website.)
I’ll be setting these chairs up in a corner of the room where procrastination creative brainstorming will occur! 😀
The swivel accent chair can be purchased here and here. I cannot wait for all 3 chairs to arrive this week!
Okay, let’s look at my updated Design Board with the newly ordered HOMEPOP chairs:
