It’s Reveal Day on Beauteeful Living and I’m so thrilled to share my very first dedicated Craft Room with you all! In case you missed any of my posts during my guest participation in this latest One Room Challenge series, you can catch up here:
Week 1 (Before Photos) // Week 2 (Design Board & Inspiration) // Week 3 (New chairs ordered) // Week 4 (Items Arriving) // Week 5 (New armchair and decor peeks) // Week 6 (Reveal Post)
There’s no bigger indication that our 2 daughters are growing up, than seeing their playroom full of toys being abandoned. It’s bittersweet but I must say it feels great to reclaim that unused space and make it functional again. Today’s reveal is essentially Phase 1 into the big picture of the redesign of our family room. Right now, this phase is all about creating a dedicated craft room for myself only (and our daughters) 😀 . You’ll notice that throughout this space, there’s a color scheme involving blue, white, and pink! (Affiliate links are provided in today’s post. For more info, please see my full disclosure here.)
Fun, bold, and bright graphical designs were top on my wish list when I created this “Resort Chic” design board:
How do these items look in my new craft space? Let’s see!
The beautiful items so generously donated by my sponsors (Cynthia Johnson Fabric/Wallcovering of Elephant in the Room Design and HomePop) were the main components of this makeover!
Look at the wallpaper, throw pillows, and those swivel armchairs. These gorgeous items just anchor this space so nicely! Speaking of anchoring a space, how amazing is that fuschia and gray rug?! It’s an indoor/outdoor rug by Safavieh.
Roses anyone? All day, any day for me. 🙂
What’s a craft room without craft storage?
Below is a “side by side” comparison of the left side of the room. Notice how much better the craft table looks now? Paint — it does wonders!
Since the majority of my crafts are floral related, it’s appropriate that I’d do some 3-D floral styling on this wall. 🙂
The top of my craft table stores my most used items — Craft paper, paint brushes, paint, and Cricut machine.
My heat press machine, vinyl rolls, and paint spray cans are neatly contained in the bottom shelf. It’s so nice to have my craft tools and supplies all stored in one place!
I was so excited when I found this hanging lantern during a recent shopping trip at Homesense. It looks perfect against the wallpaper!
Let’s now tour the part of the room that looks more like a “Craft Lounge” than a Craft room. 😉
This little nook is where I picture myself skimming through magazines whenever I have a second to myself. Pull out that ottoman on the side and I have myself a recliner! 😉
This comfy Lexington chair is nicely adorned with 3 elements:
1) Pink throw blanket from Lilly Pulitzer; 2) Accent pillow using Cynthia Johnson fabric design; and 3) Round accent pillow from Opalhouse.
Every detail in this space represents all things that I L–O–V–E. Yep, that would include paper lanterns and bamboo mirrors!
How about a tour of that big, beautiful sliding door cabinet!
The top part of cabinet is perfect for storing my home decor items! As a home stylist, a big part of my craft is “styling/staging” a space with decor items. This cabinet provides ample storage space … well, at least for now! 😉
Loving this candle holder from West Elm and that adorable blue and white mini-succulent planter (available online here).
I paired this gorgeous dried floral arrangment (purchased at 3 B’s Furniture) next to my new favorite candle (purchased at Elephant in the Room Design).
“Do What You Love. Love What You Do.”
I love that statement so much that I decided to frame it. 🙂
Design. Create. Repeat. It’s what I’d like to do in my new “Resort Chic” Craft Room!
This little corner between the window and cabinet is a perfect spot to store extra throw pillows. The ones shown below are from Pier 1 Imports.
Since we’re nearing the end of today’s reveal post, let’s compare the “Before” and “After” view of the entire space!
BEFORE (Playroom)
AFTER (Craft Room)
I cannot get over that incredible wall paper from Cynthia Johnson Fabric & Wallcovering! It’s perfect for that accent wall.
I especially love this room at night because of the soft glow emanating from all the lanterns!
Heartfelt thanks to the talented Cynthia Johnson (CJ) at Elephant in the Room Design and the lovely folks at HomePop for sponsoring my Craft Room makeover! Without a doubt, this room would not have materialized the way it did without the beautiful items from these sponsors. I’m so honored by their confidence and support during this makeover!
Sending virtual flowers to the 20 featured designers and my fellow guest participants for completing the One Room Challenge! Featured designer reveals here and guest participant reveals here.
I’m so excited to see the gorgeous reveals while hanging in my newly designed CRAFT room lounge! 🙂 Thank you Linda from Calling It Home for hosting this challenge and Better Homes & Gardens for being a media partner!
Special thanks t to Michael Daferede for taking the photos featured in today’s reveal!
