It’s Week 4 of my Craft Room Makeover as part of my guest participation in the One Room Challenge (ORC)! This week is all about making big decisions on all the important components in my craft room.
Resort Chic Craft Room Makeover – The Full Series
Week 1 (Before Photos) // Week 2 (Design Board & Inspiration) // Week 3 (New chairs ordered) // Week 4 (Items Arriving) // Week 5 (New armchair and decor peeks) // Week 6 (Reveal Post)
We’re getting so close to the deadline of the reveal so major decisions had to be made this week. Here are some of my revelations:
1. Storage Cabinet
Previously, I had planned on purchasing this Billy/Oxberg bookcase set from Ikea:
After seeing the cabinets in person this week, I decided to go with a different storage set! This Havsta sliding door cabinet set looks gorgeous in person. It is made out of solid pine wood instead of particle board so felt much more solid than the Billy set. At $495 versus $408, the price difference wasn’t substantial at all.
Currently, all of these boxes for the Havsta cabinets are sitting near our foyer. Just wonderful, right? I won’t be able to get to them until Friday at the earliest. 🙁
2. Paint Color
It’s a miracle that it only took me 1 paint sample to find the perfect shade of white paint for this room. There’s so many shades of white but I narrowed it down to a color in the “creamy white” shade.
Here’s the sample of Valspar paint in a color called “Betty’s Linen.”
Many important deliveries arrived during Week 4 of this Craft Room makeover.
For instance, my swivel chairs from HomePop arrived and I’m loving the way they look! Not only do they look stylish with modern lines, these chairs are super comfortable.
A little peek of the chairs for you. 🙂 They are available online here and here.
Another important delivery arrived from Cynthia Johnson Fabric & Wallcovering (available exclusively at Elephant in the Room Design).
Do I need words to describe my excitement at seeing these gorgeous prints in person? Just look …
Fabric — check … wall paper — check!
Eye candy for design lovers is the only way I can describe these designs. I can’t wait to share more about CJ Johnson, the designer and owner behind Elephant in the Room Designs. Stay tuned for next week’s special blog post! 🙂
Needless to say, I’ve got quite a number of important tasks to complete before I can start styling for the big reveal in Week 6. This pretty picture frame below is just sitting around until I can get to it. I’m dying to place some prints in it but that’s the least of my worries right now. I have bigger fish to fry, my friends! 😀
